Disponível em: http://repositorio.ipen.br/handle/123456789/26803.0020-7233http://repositorio.ipen.br/handle/123456789/26803The authors describe experimental results obtained with gamma spectrometry, alpha and beta gross counts, liquid scintillation and fluorometry techniques for the measurement of background radiation, and several other techniques for chemical parameters analysis in surface water samples, collected in Centro Experimental Aramar and surroundings, from 1988 to 2007. The estimated average background radiation concentrations in water samples in this region are low, related to the low level detection limits of the techniques, and the chemical parameters values are compared with the limits established by CONAMA (Comissão Nacional do Meio Ambiente / Brasil – a government agency responsible for Brazil’s environmental protection).
