The obtained PtRu/C electrocatalysts were characterized by EDX, TGA, XRD and BET surface area and pore volume measurements. The electro-oxidation of methanol was studied by chronoamperometry. The PtRu/C electrocatalyst prepared using cellulose as carbon source showed the best performance for methanol electro-oxidation.
