The program was ended at the beginning of 90’s and part of the radioactive waste generated mainly from the analytical laboratories is stored at the Waste Management Laboratory. Among various types of radioactive waste generated, the organic liquid represents a major problem for its management, because it can not be directly solidified with cement. The objective of this work is to develop a pretreatment methodology to degrade the ethyl acetate present in organic liquid waste so that it can subsequently be immobilized in cement. This work was divided into two parts: i) selection and adaptation of three bacterial communities for growth in medium containing ethyl acetate. ii) degradation experiments of ethyl acetate present in radioactive organic liquid waste. The results showed that from bacterial communities the highest biodegradation level observed was 77%.Artigo IPEN-doc 17001 Aplicação de fibra de coco para remover Am-241 de rejeitos radioativos lÃquidos2011 - GOMES, MIRELLA C.; FERREIRA, RAFAEL V.P.; LIMA, JOSENILSON B. de; YOSHIMOTO, KARINA M.; MUSSUGATI, NEILA; SAKATA, SOLANGE K.; MARUMO, JULIO T.Artigo IPEN-doc 16998 Biodisorption of Am-241 and Cs-137 by radioactive liquid waste by coffee husk2011 - FERREIRA, RAFAEL V. de P.; SAKATA, SOLANGE K.; BELLINI, MARIA H.; MARUMO, JULIO T.Artigo IPEN-doc 13621 Caracterizacao de rejeitos liquidos radioativos contendo solventes organicos2008 - FERREIRA, RAFAEL V. de P.; BELLINI, MARIA H.; SAKATA, SOLANGE K.; DUTRA, FERNANDO; BORBA, TANIA R. de; DI VITTA, PATRICIA B.; MARUMO, JULIO T.Artigo IPEN-doc 13453 Avaliacao da acao de Saccharomyces cerevisiae imobilizada al alginato de sodio no tratamento de rejeito liquido inorganico radioativo2008 - BORBA, TANIA R. de; SAKATA, SOLANGE K.; TAKARA, ALINE S.; GOES, MARCOS M.; FERREIRA, RAFAEL V.P.; MARUMO, JULIO T.Artigo IPEN-doc 16865 Application of bacteria to remove americium from radioactive liquid waste2011 - BORBA, TANIA R. de; SAKATA, SOLANGE K.; FERREIRA, RAFAEL V. de P.; BELLINI, MARIA H.; RODRIGUES, DEBORA F.; MARUMO, JULIO T.Artigo IPEN-doc 16873 Comparação entre a casca de arroz nas formas brutas e ativada na remoção de Amsup(241 e Cssup(137) de rejeitos radioativos líquidos2011 - FERREIRA, RAFAEL V. de P.; LIMA, JOSENILSON B. de; BELLINI, MARIA H.; SAKATA, SOLANGE K.; MARUMO, JULIO T.
