Resumo
Different techniques for the improvement of surface conditions have been proposed in the development of biomaterials. This paper proposed a study comparing three different patterns of ceramic surfaces for 85% Al2O3-15% ZrO2. The surface properties of the samples were analyzed after sintering, and were compared the surface without treatment, with polished surfaces, and textured surfaces femtosecond laser. The samples were characterized by DRX and density and the surfaces were characterized for roughness, wettability and scanning electron microscopy. It was also analyzed the cell adhesion behavior, using Vero cell (ATCC CCL-81). The results showed a strong correlation between the roughness and wettability with adherence behavior and cell morphology. It was observed that the effect of the laser made the surface exhibit a behavior hydrophobic with a tendency micro-roughness controlled and generated. Despite the lower participation rate, compared to other surfaces, there was more intense cell spreading on these surfaces, and vesicles on the surface of the adhered cells, showing a favorable metabolic activity of cells in this type of surface.
