Structural characterization of the resulting catalysts was done by the following techniques: X-rays fluorescence analysis (XFA) and nanosize-energy dispersive X-rays analysis (nano-EDX) to obtain information about noble metal loading and composition as well as X-rays diffraction (XRD) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) to determine structure, dispersion and crystallite size of the nanoparticles. X-rays photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was applied to detect amorphous phases and to determine the oxidation states of Pt, Ru and Mo. The morphology of membrane electrode assemblies, prepared by a spraying technique, was checked by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). For the determination of the electrocatalytic activity E/i curves in single cell arrangements were recorded using both H2/CO mixtures and methanol as feed gases.Artigo IPEN-doc 18000 Electro-oxidation of methanol using PtLa/C electrocatalysts prepared by alcohol reduction process2006 - OLIVEIRA NETO, ALMIR; SPINACE, ESTEVAM V.; SANTORO, T.A.B.; BEJARANO, M.L.M.; ARICO, E.M.; FORBICINI, C.A.L.G.O.; LINARDI, MARCELOArtigo IPEN-doc 18239 Development of new system of nano-disperse Pt-(2%Pt-Cesub(0.9)Wsub(0.1)Osub(2))/C electrocatalysts tolerant to carbon monoxide (CO) for PEMFC anodes2012 - NANDENHA, J.; ISIDORO, R.A.; DRESCH, M.A.; FERNANDES, V.C.; ARICO, E.M.; SANTIAGO, E.I.; ROTHENBERG, G.; OLIVEIRA, W.S.; LINARDI, M.Artigo IPEN-doc 10488 Thermal decomposition and indirect structural determination of rare earth element picrates with the DTSO ligand2004 - MIRANDA JUNIOR, P.; SCHPECTOR, J.Z.; MATOS, J.R.; MADUAR, M.F.; ARICO, E.M.; LINARDI, M.; ZINNER, L.B.; VICENTINI, G.The complexes [Ln(pic)3(DTSO)3] (Ln=La, Lu and Y; pic=picrate; DTSO=1,3-dithiane-1-oxide) were synthesized and characterized. Indirect structural determination by far infrared spectroscopy is presented. Results from thermal decomposition of these complexes by TG/DTG and DSC techniques are reported.Artigo IPEN-doc 09561 Synthesis and characterization of eletrocatalyst powders for application in PEM fuel cells2003 - FRANCO, E.G.; ARICO, E.M.; LINARDI, M.; ROTH, C.; MARTZ, N.; FUESS, H.The Bonnemann method was chosen to synthesize carbon-supported Pt-Ru-Mo electrocatalyst powders, as this method leads to highly-dispersed nanoparticles with an average particle size of approximately 2 nm.
