The incorporated phosphor particles showed improved water resistance, preserving much of the prior persistent luminescence properties even after interaction with water whereas the nonincorporated particles loosed the original persistent luminescence. The infrared absorption spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence studies were used to characterize the phosphors. The pH of the phosphor-water mixture after the reaction with water was measured to compare the water resistance of the materials. The photoluminescence of the incorporated BaAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ with water modified slightly the 4f6 5d1 →4f7 transition of Eu2+, however.Resumo IPEN-doc 14453 Long lasting phosphorescence of Eusup(2+) and Dysup(3+) ions doped in barium aluminate2007 - STEFANI, ROBERVAL; RODRIGUES, LUCAS C.V.; CARVALHO, CARLOS A.A.; BRITO, HERMI F.; KODAIRA, CLAUDIA A.; FELINTO, MARIA C.F.C.Resumo IPEN-doc 14454 Afterglow of Prsup(3+) doped in cadmium silicate2007 - RODRIGUES, LUCAS C.V.; STEFANI, ROBERVAL; CARVALHO, CARLOS A.A.; KODAIRA, CLAUDIA A.; FELINTO, MARIA C.F.C.; BRITO, HERMI F. deResumo IPEN-doc 16280 Persistent luminescence of barium aluminate doped with Eusup(2+) prepared by the combustion method2008 - RODRIGUES, L.C.V.; STEFANI, R.; CARVALHO, C.A.A.; BRITO, H.F.; KODAIRA, C.A.; FELINTO, M.C.F.C.; HOLSA, J.Resumo IPEN-doc 16282 Preparation and optical properties of silica material encapsulating terbium complex2008 - LOURENCO, A.V.S.; KODAIRA, C.A.; SOUZA, E.R.; BRITO, H.F.; FELINTO, M.C.F.C.Rare earth ions are generally used as florescent probes for analytical application because of their distinguished luminescence characteristics such as narrow spectral width, long luminescence lifetime and large Stokes shift. Luminescent functionalized silica particles have been widely used for bionalytical assays. These particles are typically generated by incorporating complex into the silica matrix.Resumo IPEN-doc 16283 Encapsulation study of persistent luminescent material in silica2008 - LOURENCO, A.V.S.; RODRIGUES, L.C.V.; KODAIRA, C.A.; STEFANI, R.; CARVALHO, C.A.A.; BRITO, H.F.; FELINTO, M.C.F.C.; HOLSA, J.Resumo IPEN-doc 16285 Photoluminescent study of polymeric system based on rare 'beta'-diketonate crown complexes and polymethylmetacrylate film2008 - VERLOZA, A.; KODAIRA, C.A.; FELINTO, M.C.F.C.; BRITO, H.F.Resumo IPEN-doc 16168 Potential applications for the use of rare earth complexes and nanoparticles as luminescent biolabels2010 - FELINTO, M.C.F.C.; KODAIRA, C.A.; PAGANINI, P.P.; SANTOS, E.G.; LOURENCO, A.V.S.; BRITO, H.F.; NUNES, L.A.O.; MALTA, O.L.; SANCHES, E.; GIDLUND, M.; GOTO, H.; BRITO, M.E.F.The ever growing interest in rare earth coordination compounds and materials wilh optical properties stems from applications in multidisciplinar fields such as nanosensors, materials for telecommunications. lighting devices, and luminescent probes for bioanalyses and live cell imaging and sensing. Most of these applications use the unique ability of lhe rare earth ions to emit well-defined narrow bands in different spectral ranges, from visible to near-infrared. Due to the low absorption cross-section of the f.f transitions, efficient population of lhe excited 4f states has to rely on energy transfer from the surroundings of Ihe metal ion (antena effect or luminescence sensitization). Another point desirable is the use of RE3+ ions wilh emission in the near-infrared (NIR) region reducing !he interference from biological materials in the analyses. In this work. we report the preparation and characterization of rare earth coordination compounds and nanoparticles based on rare earth ions. RE3+ beta-diketonate complexes with macrocyclic ligand has been synthesized and characterized and are being used to mark hemoglobin S (sickle cells) Leishmania (tropical disease) and PSA (Prostate-specific antigen that is a protein produced by cells of the prostate gland. The PSA test measures the level of PSA in the blood). Several nanoparticles based on Nd3+, Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions doped into the Y2O3 matrix. are also being synthesized and evaluated for labeling anti-oxLDL (anti-oxidized low density lipoproteins), one of the principal causes of cardiovascular diseases and responsible for around 30% of deaths world-wide. information about struture and average grain size of these nanoparticles were obtained by x-ray diffration (XRDJ, transmission electron micrograph (TEM) and infrared absorption spectroscopy.Resumo IPEN-doc 16171 Viabilidade da aplicacao de particulas de silica incorporando complexo luminescente como marcador biologico2010 - LOURENCO, ANA V.S.; KODAIRA, CLAUDIA A.; SANCHES, EDUARDO M.; GOTO, HIRO; GIDLUND, MAGNUS A.; FELINTO, MARIA C.F.C.; BRITO, HERMI F.
