Resumo
Information about radioactive waste is essential for effective waste management. However, many radioactive waste management organizations (RWMOs) lack systematized records management procedures. This can lead to the loss of important information, which can impact the quality assurance and safety of waste management, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.
This study identified the gaps in records management practices at the largest RWMO in Brazil and proposed solutions that can be implemented using pre-existing resources in the organization. The proposed solutions are based on the recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA).
